Abstract

Of the FRUITAVAIL proposal:

Increasing Availability of Fruit and Vegetables in Schools and Workplaces

Fruits and vegetables are beneficial to health, and avalailability of fruits and vegetables is necessary for increasing intake. Organisations, comprising partners from the public and private sectors in Member States, have a wealth of experience in implementing and evaluating alternative intervention strategies

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The aim of this project is to increase availability of ready-to-eat fruit and vegetables in schools and workplaces by developing, disseminating and promoting effective best practice for increasing intake of fruit and vegetables in children and adults for health.
This project will:

-Develop guidelines on "Best European Practice" to increase the effectiveness of current and planned intervention programmes.

"Tailor made" pilot projects will provide hands-on-training through setting up and running Public-Private Partnerships involving governmental, private and NGO’s.
